Life can take us on wild and fantastic journeys that can be a little scary. Sometimes downright terrifying. Just as Alice tumbled down the rabbit hole, we also can find ourselves deep in a dark tunnel with seemingly no way out. Whether this be because of economic poverty, political problems, crippling self-doubt, etc. But what I love about the Alice in Wonderland fairytale is that no matter what insanity transpires before her, she always moves forward. She doesn’t give up, she stands her ground, and in her want to change her world-view, she discovers new and fantastic things. (more…)
Ever heard the phrase “Don’t let seeds stop you from enjoying the watermelon”? It’s a simple saying at first glance, but it has a deeper meaning. It’s a metaphor for life and its trials. Life is like a giant watermelon, and while there are bitter or tough spots, it doesn’t mean we should disregard the whole thing. That’s why the watermelon is one of my favorite fruits; it reminds me to take the good with the bad, and enjoy the moment. No wonder I fell in love with this adorable watermelon top and shorts set that SheIn sent to me. (more…)
Hello dolls! I’ve finally finished my first year of college at FIDM and will be able to devote a lot more time to blogging this summer. To kick off the new season, I’ll be experimenting with a lot more fashion styles and new brands. The first brand I’ll be reviewing this month is: ToSave.
When ToSave first asked me to do a review, I was very hesitant given their website looked a little sketchy and I hadn’t heard the best things about them. Nevertheless they were persistent with their emails, and I figured, “why not?” So they sent me this stylish pair of distressed jeans and a cute watch to review, and here are the pros/cons. (more…)
Convenience is of the utmost importance in today’s society. In our increasingly busy days, we we’re bombarded with all kinds of different messages and experiencing sensory-overload. One of the things that can be rather challenging in my life is purchasing items from overseas companies that don’t ship to the US. As much as I love J-fashion, it can be a pain to get Japanese-exclusive items. I’ve had to try a plethora of different forwarding services, auction sites, even personal shoppers. (Which we all know aren’t cheap.) But thanks to DeJapan, I’ve found a way to make my shopping way more convenient. Read below my review of DeJapan and this Majestic Legon purse I received through them. (more…)
Hello dolls! As you may recall from my previous Beauty-themed post, I was very happy with the Versace Bright Crystal and Christian Dior Blooming Bouquet scents that I received from Fragrancenet. They were both exquisite, high quality, had wonderful scents, basically everything you’d expect from luxury brands. Since then I’ve become addicted to perfume world and I wanted to share two more amazing aromas I was sent to review. In this post I’ll be showing the exquisite Jimmy ChooEau De Parfum and the floral Dolce & GabbanaRose Excelsa. Scroll below to read this in-depth write-up! (more…)
“Beauty is not meant to be practical, luxury is an inconvenience,” -Novala Takemoto, (author of Kamikaze Girls.) Truly all the most elegant and gorgeous things in life takes effort. The best garments take weeks of construction, the highest-quality food needs hours of preparation, and to be truly beautiful inside and out, we need a lifestyle that fully encompasses the ideals of healthy living. To me, it is of the utmost importance that I surround myself with beautiful things that bring me joy. Including positive people, exciting adventures, and expressing myself creatively via clothing. The newest addition to my creative arsenal that I call my wardrobe is this exquisite floral gown from Souffle Song’s Ancient Clocks collection, sent to me byDevilinspired. It has everything I find to be gorgeous; flowers, lace, and a luxuriant feeling. If the thought of soft fabrics, pink roses, gold trim, and pearl detailing is appealing to you, read below! (more…)
Recently I’ve been studying the “language” of flowers, which has always been a thing of intrigue to me. It’s so interesting to see what a daisy symbolizes versus a tulip or rose. Pink roses stand for gratitude, friendship, and gracefulness. While in contrast, a red rose can be a symbol for romantic love, and passion. Nothing makes me happier than seeing beautiful flowers, both on my clothing and in person. So when SheIn sent me this beautiful rose maxi to review, I was absolutely ecstatic. (more…)
In the words of Karl Lagerfeld (creative director of Chanel and Fendi), “There is no beauty without strangeness.” Ever since I was young, I’ve been drawn to things that were a little out of the box, unusual, and either far in the past or far ahead of the times. Whether that be pink vintage robes, fluff-ball earrings, or poofy Lolita dresses straight from Tokyo. After experimenting with a variety of fashions, girly accessories, even Japanese nail art, I want to yet again expand my horizon. This time to the world of decorative tights and extravagant legwear. Allow me to introduce you to Virivee.
Virivee is a Hungarian brand founded by Viri Vig in 2012 that specializes in the art of hand-printed tights. Their product lines consist of beautifully patterned and high quality designs, including a mermaid collection, an ombre collection, patch tights, and much more. When they contacted me asking if I’d be interested in reviewing some of their tights, I was ecstatic. I chose a pair of pink mermaid tights, a pink ombre pair, and even received a surprise Budapest sheer pair. If the thought of fantasy apparel and quirky designs appeals to you, read below! (more…)
Review of Christian Dior’s Blooming Bouquet & Versace’s Bright Crystal Perfume
Happy Friday lovelies! It’s almost Easter and Spring has finally arrived. The flowers are blooming, the sun is finally shining, and it’s the perfect time to start net things. To shake things up a bit around here, I’m going to be doing a few more non-fashion reviews. To kick off the new season/new year, I’ve been expanding my horizons from the apparel industry to that of cosmetics. I’ve done so much research on perfumes, makeup brands, women’s skincare, and just about anything I can think of. Its time for me to not just focus solely on the world of clothing, but the magic of the beauty realm as well. I use shoes and fancy dresses to express myself, and I’m discovering how to do the same with lipsticks, nail art, blushes, etc.
So you could definitely imagine my how perfect the timing was when Fragrancenet.comreached out to me asking if I’d be interested in a collaboration. Not just because of my new-found love of perfumes and cosmetics, but also because they’re one of the largest (and one the first) online-retailers of authenticated luxury brand fragrances, gift sets, and aromatherapy. They’ve been in business since 1997, two entire decades now. Heck even my mom has purchased from their site before! Besides their extensive history, they’ve got a wonderfully optimized webpage and carry products of the highest caliber. Gucci, Marc Jacobs, Thierry Mugler, Burberry, nearly every big-name brand you can think of. The products I chose to review is the Christian Dior’sBlooming Bouquet perfume, and Versace’sBright Crystalgift set. And oh boy do I have a lot to say about these scents! (more…)
In my previous write-up of BlingUp & Co last October, you’ll know I how thrilled I was to find a brand that does beautiful, custom-size nails designs. To add the cherry on top, they recently just opened a cute little boutique right in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles (453 S. Spring St. Los Angeles, CA.) Inside it is a heaven of extravagant Japanese nail art, gorgeously detailed apparel, fancy deco cases, and all kinds of sparkly trinkets. Come take a glimpse at LA’s newest kawaii-fashion and accessories shop. Truly a gem you can’t miss!
