Life can take us on wild and fantastic journeys that can be a little scary. Sometimes downright terrifying. Just as Alice tumbled down the rabbit hole, we also can find ourselves deep in a dark tunnel with seemingly no way out. Whether this be because of economic poverty, political problems, crippling self-doubt, etc. But what I love about the Alice in Wonderland fairytale is that no matter what insanity transpires before her, she always moves forward. She doesn’t give up, she stands her ground, and in her want to change her world-view, she discovers new and fantastic things. (more…)
Ever heard the phrase “Don’t let seeds stop you from enjoying the watermelon”? It’s a simple saying at first glance, but it has a deeper meaning. It’s a metaphor for life and its trials. Life is like a giant watermelon, and while there are bitter or tough spots, it doesn’t mean we should disregard the whole thing. That’s why the watermelon is one of my favorite fruits; it reminds me to take the good with the bad, and enjoy the moment. No wonder I fell in love with this adorable watermelon top and shorts set that SheIn sent to me. (more…)
Hello dolls! I’ve finally finished my first year of college at FIDM and will be able to devote a lot more time to blogging this summer. To kick off the new season, I’ll be experimenting with a lot more fashion styles and new brands. The first brand I’ll be reviewing this month is: ToSave.
When ToSave first asked me to do a review, I was very hesitant given their website looked a little sketchy and I hadn’t heard the best things about them. Nevertheless they were persistent with their emails, and I figured, “why not?” So they sent me this stylish pair of distressed jeans and a cute watch to review, and here are the pros/cons. (more…)
Convenience is of the utmost importance in today’s society. In our increasingly busy days, we we’re bombarded with all kinds of different messages and experiencing sensory-overload. One of the things that can be rather challenging in my life is purchasing items from overseas companies that don’t ship to the US. As much as I love J-fashion, it can be a pain to get Japanese-exclusive items. I’ve had to try a plethora of different forwarding services, auction sites, even personal shoppers. (Which we all know aren’t cheap.) But thanks to DeJapan, I’ve found a way to make my shopping way more convenient. Read below my review of DeJapan and this Majestic Legon purse I received through them. (more…)
In the words of Karl Lagerfeld (creative director of Chanel and Fendi), “There is no beauty without strangeness.” Ever since I was young, I’ve been drawn to things that were a little out of the box, unusual, and either far in the past or far ahead of the times. Whether that be pink vintage robes, fluff-ball earrings, or poofy Lolita dresses straight from Tokyo. After experimenting with a variety of fashions, girly accessories, even Japanese nail art, I want to yet again expand my horizon. This time to the world of decorative tights and extravagant legwear. Allow me to introduce you to Virivee.
Virivee is a Hungarian brand founded by Viri Vig in 2012 that specializes in the art of hand-printed tights. Their product lines consist of beautifully patterned and high quality designs, including a mermaid collection, an ombre collection, patch tights, and much more. When they contacted me asking if I’d be interested in reviewing some of their tights, I was ecstatic. I chose a pair of pink mermaid tights, a pink ombre pair, and even received a surprise Budapest sheer pair. If the thought of fantasy apparel and quirky designs appeals to you, read below! (more…)
I love ridiculously girly things. If it’s Hello Kitty-themed or has Rilakkuma plastered all over it, you can bet I want, no need it. In my constant hunt to feed my cute-clothing addiction, I found some buried treasure: Bopyo. A Seattle-based brand that adds a new and refreshing taste to the rather over-saturated world of Kawaii. Bopyo’s mission? To “Provide visually cute quality products through our Bopyo Gang. We are in the “Happiness Business”, to add smiles to the world.” (more…)
One of the things I told myself I would try in 2017 was a jumpsuit. Like a romper, jumpsuits are like dresses with pants on the bottom. They’re very elegant, mature, and definitely have an air of professionalism about them more so than rompers. Jumpsuits have a masculine aspect as well, and are usually associated with powerful corporate women. (Nothing wrong with that but it definitely isn’t me.) But what I love about this one is how delicate and airy it is. My style is feminine, and I love wearing traditionally girly clothing. Take a look at why I chose this jumpsuit over others. (more…)
After quite a long hiatus, I’m happy to announce I’m taking a dive back into the blogging world. I’ve been too busy to blog lately (thanks finals) but since I finally completed my first quarter at FIDM, I’ll have more time on my hands. And goodness do I have some really interesting things to show you dolls. There’s lot’s of pretty clothes to see! (Including a little surprise at the end of this post.)
As many of you know, I’ve been on the hunt for velvets. Chokers, dresses, coats, you name it. The most recent addition to my closet is this adorable pink velvet camisole dress. What drew me to it wasn’t just that it was pink, but also because it had lace detailing on it as well. I love playing with different textures and it’s not often you find velvet used with other fabrics. Anyways I’ve compiled a short list of my favorite velvet pieces from this brand, so check it out below! (more…)
Approximately 4-5 years ago, I discovered a brand called “Chibi Bunny.” They were doing a giveaway for some of the cutest bags I had ever seen in my life. The bright pops of color amazed me, and I loved seeing familiar characters drawn in a new way. I didn’t win that giveaway, but I still decided to buy the Strawberry Bunny purse. It turned out to be a great purchase and lasted me years. I used that bag all throughout my schooling, different relationships, new cities, and it never once failed me. I still have it to this day (albeit it’s pretty worn out.) But ever since, I’ve followed this brand religiously.
You could imagine my joy when Chibi Bunny asked me to model the Melty Milky-Way Galaxy Skirt. Seriously this is probably one of the gigs that’s excited me the most. My heart skipped a beat and I nearly died and went to the afterlife. Joking aside, click below to see more of this skirt and my review on Chibi Bunny! (more…)
